Organic Junk Food

Okay, so here's the deal.  Now, with the incredible amount of contradicting nutrition advice out there, more and more people are starting to buy organic.  That is great.  What is NOT great is that there are more and more organic packaged foods that are LOADED with sugar!  Yes, these products are 'healthier' than non-organic products bc they do not use harmful chemicalized sugars and preservatives, but fancy names like 'evaporated can juice' is really just sugar. Sugar is sugar is sugar! 

For example, I hear my clients so excited when they find an organic cereal.  This is a great change from Frosted Flakes or the famous Lucky Charms, hands down. But, the first question I ask them is to flip the box over and read me how many grams of sugar is on the label.  I usually hear 12g PLUS.  Thats 3+ teaspoons of sugar in ONE serving and noone eats just one serving (especially of cereal, since you need at least 2 bowls to actually fill you up and feel the least bit satisfied).  Then, sadly, when they are so over excited, I have to let them down easy and let them know that this is a 'treat' since there is an immense amount of sugar in their organic cereal.  It really is sad. 

Sugar depresses our immune function, feeds our bad bacteria and cancer cells, and makes it nearly impossible to loose weight.
